Panathinaikos agrees with Giannopoulos
Charis GiannopoulosAs announced by the club on Monday, Panathinaikos Athens has reached an agreement for the upcoming season with an option for another with forward Charis Giannopoulos. Giannopoulos (2.06 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Peristeri of the Greek League, where last season he averaged 12.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in 24 Greek League appearances. Giannopoulos started his pro career in 2005 with PAOK Thessaloniki. He played there until 2008 and in the summer of that year he signed with Olympiacos Piraeus. However, his role was not very important and he moved on to Panionios On Telecoms in 2009. He played there for two seasons before moving to Peristeri for the last campaign. He has also been a consistent member of the Greek national team inferior categories.
