Telenet Oostende lands Mario Stojic
Belgian squad BC Telenet Oostende announced the addition of swingman Mario Stojic for the upcoming season. Stojic (1.98 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Lucentum Alicante of the Spanish League, where last season he averaged 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 35 games. Veteran Stojic spent three seasons in Alicante. He started his pro career in 1994 in Germany with Post SG Mannheim in the inferior divisions. In 1997 he landed in KK Zagreb, where he spent three seasons and then switched to KK Zadar. In 2001 he moved to Italy to play two seasons with Benetton Treviso and he then moved to Spain, signed by Real Madrid in 2003. Since then, Stojic has always played in Spain, four seasons in Menorca and three more in Alicante. He won the 2005 Spanish League with Real Madrid and the Italian League in 2002 with Benetton Treviso. Stojic now aims for a Turkish Airlines Euroleague return as Oostende will play in the Qualifying Round, starting against CEZ Basketball Nymburk.
