Union Olimpija inks Omic to 4-year deal
Alen Omic signs with OlimpijaUnion Olimpija Ljubljana locked up promising young center Alen Omic to a four-year deal, the club announced Thursday. Omic (2.15 meters, 20 years old) has impressed at every level over the past season and will now try to make an impact in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Last season he averaged 11.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over 30 Slovenian League games for Zlatorog Lasko. He then led the Slovenian Under-20 national team with 15.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1 block per game at the European championships over the summer. A native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Omic moved to Slovenia in 2007 to play for Kolpa Crnomelj and after one season there moved to Lasko for the next four.
