Zalgiris Kaunas bolsters frontcourt with Foote
Jeff FooteWith one of its signature big men out due to injury, Zalgiris Kaunas has added new center Jeff Foote to its 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague roster. Foote (2.13 meters, 25 years old) will fill in for the injured veteran Robertas Javtokas, who suffered a stress fracture to his foot during the summer and is out indefinitely. Foote's last team was New Orleans of the NBA, with whom he appeared in four games last season. He is now expected to make his Euroleague debut two years after originally turning pro with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, with whom he played but one Israeli League game before being loaned to Spanish second-division team Melilla. Foote had since played in the NBA Development League for Springfield prior to joining New Orleans last spring. Before turning pro, Foote starred at Cornell University, where he won three consecutive Ivy League titles, finishing with averages of with 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in his final season.
