WHAT'S NEW
Lots of experience landed in Bamberg this off-season, starting with versatile forward Bostjan Nachbar and veteran big man Sharrod Ford. Brose Baskets added size and rebounding by inking A.J. Ogilvy and young physical center Maik Zirbes. The German champion also improved its backcourt with combo-guard Teddy Gipson, who also makes his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut.

THE BACKCOURT
Playmaker John Goldsberry is back in the rotation after a knee injury that sidelined him for an entire season, and he will be running the offense together with Anton Gavel, who jumped into Goldsberry's shoes last season. The addition of Gipson gives Coach Fleming another playmaking option, but even more a deep threat. The experienced guard has great range and should improve a team that was fourth worst in three-pointers made last season. Gipson should also make life easier on swingman Casey Jacobsen, too. The team leader and its most-experienced player, Jacobsen has a great jump shot and wonderful understanding of the game. Youngsters Karsten Tadda and Daniel Schmidt round out the group and will start in reserve roles.

THE FRONTCOURT
There is a different look in the frontcourt this season with the additions of Ford, Nachbar and Ogilvy. All three bring scoring and rebounding to the table, especially Ford, who is a dangerous shot-blocker as well. Nachbar's speed and versatility allows Coach Fleming to keep all three of them on the floor at the same time and create mismatches this trio will happily exploit. Bamberg will have more size and rebounding off the bench with Zirbes and young Philipp Neumann, making this unit complete and ready to carry Bamberg throughout the season.

OUTLOOK
Bamberg revamped its frontline loading it with size and experience, while keeping continuity in the backcourt and adding some perimeter scoring. The experience and smarts on the floor together with the great push the team gets from the sold-out stands in Freak City should give Coach Fleming the tools needed to take the club to the new heights.

Anton Gavel - Brose Baskets
PLAYER TO WATCH: Anton Gavel
Bamberg will depend quite a lot on its experience in half-court sets, and with that comes a great deal of responsibility for tempo-dictator Gavel. With his cool head and leadership, Gavel has made ball control as well as avoiding turnovers one of his great strengths, and that is exactly what he will have to bank on to guide this veteran team.
