Croatian powerhouse Cedevita Zagreb is supporting One Team, Euroleague Basketball’s social responsibility program, for the fourth consecutive season.

The 7DAYS EuroCup challenger has again planned a series of activities to benefit local people who have Down’s Syndrome, renewing its successful partnership with Down21, an association which works with young people aged between 16 and 23.

In this age group, Down’s Syndrome sufferers are at more danger of becoming increasingly marginalized and isolated from society, particularly when they leave school at 18.

The Down21 organization is unique in the Croatian capital as it is run by parents of children with Down’s Syndrome and specifically aims to change the lives of young adults.

Participants in the Cedevia One Team program meet twice a month under the guidance of coaches who use specially designed basketball drills to develop key life skills.

In particular, the drills focus on building self-confidence and motivation among the participants, with the aim of inspiring them to reach their full potential in life.

The team’s power forward and One Team Ambassador Marko Arapovic has been happy to lend his support by attending some of the sessions, and he said: “One Team is such a great initiative from EuroLeague Basketball.

“Each time I come along to a session I can feel how much energy the participants are bringing, and this makes me happy and motivated to be around them.”

One Team, supported by Turkish Airlines as the One Team Founding Patron and with the collaboration of Special Olympics as Proud Partner, uses basketball to achieve meaningful social impact in our communities across Europe and is supported by every club in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup.

Since its founding in 2012, the One Team program has already helped more than 14,000 participants through its various team-focussed projects.
