Hapoel star Timor presents new uniforms to One Team players

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem star Bar Timor made a special visit last Friday, heading to the basketball court in Kiryat Menachem to give local players their new official uniforms.

Timor is the club's ambassador for One Team along with his teammate Stratos Perperoglou, Euroleague Basketball's social responsibility program, which is committed to using the power of basketball to improve the lives of thousands of people all over Europe.

The youth team in Kiryat Menachem, an underprivileged district of Jerusalem, is collaborating with Hapoel throughout the season as part of the 7DAYS EuroCup club's One Team activities.

And the young members of the team were thrilled by the surprise visit from Timor, who joined them for their weekly practice before handing out the new uniforms.

The players had worked to earn this reward by showing commitment to their practices, and they each received two sets of Hapoel uniforms – red and white, exactly like the pro team.

Timor then challenged the kids to compete against him in a shooting competition, before taking the opportunity to give the young players some shooting tips and sharing some of his most important experiences as a professional.

After the session, Timor said: "It was great to come here and meet these young players, who have been working very hard and really deserve their new uniforms.

"As a club, Hapoel is determined to support our community and the One Team program is a great way of doing this. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Kiryat Menachem kids progress and improve not only on the court but also off the court with the life skills that they practice over the course of the season."

The program was developed jointly with Bank Yahav, the club's main sponsor, for teenagers from poor families within Kiryat Menachem.

Special emphasis is placed on attracting teenagers of Ethiopian descent and working to maximize their commitment. The main goal of the activities is to establish a basketball framework for these disadvantaged teenagers and to teach key values such as personal responsibility and self-discipline.

One Team, supported by Turkish Airlines as the One Team Founding Patron and with the collaboration of Special Olympics as Proud Partner, uses basketball to achieve meaningful social impact in our communities across Europe and is supported by every club in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup.

Since its founding in 2012, the One Team program has already helped more than 14,000 participants through its various team-focused projects.
