Ambassadors: Brian Qvale and Alexey Savrasenko
Main Life Skills: Teamwork, Trust, Respect and Communications
About the program: Lokomotiv Kuban developed it’s One Team program in a partnership with recycling company Ferratek for students of the 30th Krasnodar MBOU Secondary School. The school is located in bad neighborhood and the kids are aggressive, with no communication existing between classes. Consequently, the main goals of the project are: team-building, improving personal skills through teamwork, developing trust, respect and proper communications among teenagers. Community cohesion is provided in three directions: the physiological, psychological, and social. Thus, weekly 2 hours sessions are divided into three blocks: physical session or warm-up, an individual work on improvement of basketball skills, and social games based on basketball. Fifteen 12-15 year old teenagers of both genders take part in the program. Sessions with a professional coach from Lokomotiv’s staff are held in a gym of the secondary school. Every month special sessions are held with participation of a One Team Ambassador, Loko’s center Brian Qvale and legend of Kuban basketball, Loko’s Manager Alexey Savrasenko.
