About the program: Panathinaikos Athens is delivering its One Team Program together with Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. Panathinaikos One Team program consists of 8 sessions over 8 weeks, each lasting 2 hours. The sessions are aimed at young people aged 15-35 and focus on different problems such as marginalization, bullying, psychological problems, racism and how to overcome them using key life skills such as sociability, teamwork and confidence, all developed using basketball as a tool. They are using one person from their last season’s program with Special Juvenile Detention at Korinthos as an assistant coach – demonstrating the pathways that One Team can create.
