Wow I am excited! My family is coming this weekend and my kids are going to kick my butt! They will be so full of energy because they know I am always up for taking them somewhere and getting them out the house. They love it! So that will be a good change of speed for me. Plus the weather here in Kaunas has been great. The people say it's normally not like this, but hey, that's what I do: I bring good weather with me wherever I go! I'm being serious! Haha!

But what's really floating my boat is the b-ball!!! Our team is in hunt for the right to extend our Euroleague season. We definitely had a chance to be in a better situation, but hey, it's not wise to keep living in the past. That's why I like basketball so much and playing in the Euroleague. You can't dwell on things for a long time because before you know it, you are in another situation, in another game. But it's hard to forget when you put so much into something. The loss at Olympiacos was tough because we did what a visiting team is supposed to do – take the crowd/fans out of the game. The Madrid loss was totally different. They just came into one of the most enthusiastic arenas anywhere, with (arguably) the toughest and most dedicated fans in Europe, and kicked our butt. They played really well! So as of now, we have our work cut out for us. Save some milk for the babies, right?! That's the type of team we, a bunch of guys who are going to fight till the end and see if it's good enough!

By far this is one of the more interesting and entertaining teams I have been a part of. We have a lot of fun together and what's crazy is that it's all natural. By the way, I had a bet with Mantas Kalnietis to see which of us could get the most dunks before Xmas! Y'all know who won? I guess I shouldn't tell because I don't want to embarrass anybody. I really enjoy being around these guys. They all are very opinionated, funny and weird guys. Most of my time is spent with Marcus. We pretty much do everything together. That's my dude! We talking 'bout the Euroleague all-time scoring leader! On top of that, he's a great, hilarious dude. Enuff said! I can honestly say this year with the guys we have around has been special for me. To believe me, you would have to be in our locker room. Including our staff when it's a tough day as we all have there will be somebody in the locker room that will cheer you up or give you a good laugh. What up Doc?

Well it's time to get back to work. We have a really busy week. We have Olympiacos on Thursday at home followed by L.Rytas in the Siemens Arena for a domestic game, then followed by Maccabi in Tel Aviv. Our goal is to take one game at a time and hopefully we can say we won all three against three tough opponents.

'Til next time, y'all!

Beware of the BIG DAWGS!

First of all, let me begin by saying that I am a little nervous to be doing this. One reason is because this is thinking aloud, and I am shy. Also because this is my first time playing in the Top 16 and I don't want to be a jinx to my team. This definitely is the time of season that barks don't count. Bites do.

The Top 16 kind of reminds me of the NCAA tournament. By the way, I have never been to either before this, but you understand what I want to say. Maybe because I am a self-proclaimed basketball fanatic, but there's just something about this time of year that makes me go crazy! Could it be because winter is coming to an end? Could it be that we are that much closer to summer, which means, I get to spend that well-deserved quality time with my family and friends, sitting around the house laughing and joking or even crying about the great time I spent with my teammates, whether good or bad? Definitely the lure of summer counts for something, but the truth, I know, is that this craziness is all about "THE ROCK" baby!

Since growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, where I started in this sport at the age of 14 (yeah, I was kind of late to it), I have been fascinated by the gracefulness of how the ball bounces - and definitely of how it goes in the basket. It's weird, by the way, but till this day I get the same feeling. Even when I watch other players. This time of year is prime time. I can honestly say that this time of year that basketball brings out "STARS"! It's like that old saying: "If You Aren't A BIG DAWG, STAY ON THE PORCH!" Well, I am here to tell you, D.C. is off the porch and so is his team! Only problem is that we are not the only "big dawgs" off the porch. There are 16 teams of BIG DAWGS - and all of them bite hard!

It's that time of season and best of luck to everyone! Now everyone say with me...

"Dear God, protect each and every player from injury and harm. Let them raise this level of competition to the highest it's been in recent years. And let Zalgiris win Euroleague. Amen!"

Till next time!
