Olympiacos, the Euroleague team with the longest streak of playoffs appearances, had made the Final Four in 2009 and 2010 thanks to an influx of star signings.

CSKA sets defensive mark

CSKA Moscow established a new Final Four era defensive record in the second quarter of the first game at the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. The Russian champs limited Panathinaikos to 5 points, which represents the fewest points ever scored in a single quarter in a Final Four game. CSKA’s defensive efforts not carried the team back from a double-digit deficit, but eclipsed the previous mark of 6. That record was set in the semifinals of the 2003 Final Four in Barcelona, where Montepaschi Siena held Benetton Treviso to 6 points in the third quarter.
