Adriatic League semifinals, Game 2: March 29-30, 2007
Milos Teodosic - BC FMP Defending Adriatic League champion FMP made it to the title series and will face either Partizan or Cibona, who meet each other in Zagreb, Croatia on Saturday to fight for a place in the three-way finals. FMP made to the Adriatic League finals by edging Hemofarm 83-87 in Vrsac on Friday. As such, FMP won the series 2-0 despite losing playmaker Aleksandar Rasic, whose contract was bought out by Turkish powerhouse Efes Pilsen. His natural replacement Milos Teodosic led the winners with 21 points. Branko Cvetkovic added 19 and Zoran Erceg had 14, while Predrag Suput had 22 points for Hemofarm. FMP led 35-43 at halftime and even when Hemofarm got back ahead, 57-56, FMP used a 0-8 run to get the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Partizan stayed alive in the competition by downing archrivals Cibona 85-76 in Belgrade on Thursday to tie the three-way series at 1-1. Predrag Drobnjak led the winners with 15 points. Novica Velickovic added 14 and Kosta Perovic had 12. Brent Wright had 14 points for Cibona while Ivan Tomas added 13. Cibona led 40-47 at halftime but Velickovic shined in the third quarter to put Partizan ahead for good.

FMP became the first team to advance to the Adriatic League finals by edging Hemofarm 83-87 in Vrsac on Friday. Cvetkovic added 19, Erceg had 14 and Dragan Labovic 11 for FMP. Suput had 22 points for Hemofarm, Nebojsa Joksimovic added 20 and Vladan Vukosavljevic 11. Hemofarm opened the game with a 12-4 run that Velimir Radinovic capped with a dunk, while an outstanding Suput allowed the hosts to keep a 23-21 edge after 10 minutes. Three-pointers by Djordje Micic, Labovic and Cvetkovic fueled a 3-16 run that put FMP ahead, 28-37. A final layup by Milos Teodosic allowed FMP to keep a 35-43 halftime edge. Vukosavljevic and Joksimovic rescued Hemofarm after the break, while a four-point play by Aleksej Nesovic put the hosts ahead, 57-56. Micic and Teodosic fueled a 0-8 run that gave FMP a 70-79 lead with 5 minutes to go. Hemofarm got within 80-83, but free throws by Teodosic and Labovic allowed FMP to make it to the title series.

Partizan bounced back from its initial loss in the three-way series by downing archrivals Cibona 85-76 in Belgrade on Thursday. Series are tied at 1-1, but Cibona will host decisive Game 3 on Saturday. Drobnjak led the winners with 15 points. Velickovic added 14, Perovic had 12 while Dusan Kecman and Nikola Pekovic each scored 10 points for Partizan. Wright had 14 points for Cibona while Tomas added 13. Wright led a 5-15 opening run for Cibona that Marin Rozic capped with a jumper. Luksa Andric and Chris Warren allowed Cibona to keep a double-digit lead, 15-25, after 10 minutes. A three-pointer by Wright made it a 12-point game, 20-32, and even when Partizan used a 8-0 run to get back in the game, Tomas and a final triple by Barisa Krasic allowed the guests to keep a safe 40-47 halftime edge. Uros Tripkovic had 7 points in a 11-0 run that gave Partizan a 51-49 edge, while Velickovic had 8 points in 4 minutes to gave the hosts an eight-point lead, 65-57, after 30 minutes. Partizan rolled early in the final period, boosted its margin to 75-57 and never looked back to tie the series.
