Latvian League, Quarterfinals, Game 2: April 19, 2007 |
Barons/LMT crushed Bumerangs 102-69 on Thursday night to advance to the Latvian League semifinals. The Barons won the best-of-three quarterfinals series 2-1 with a pair of big home wins and a 1-point loss on the road. Valmiera won Game 2 of its series with Liepaja 84-88 to force a Game 3 on Sunday. Martins Skirmants scored 21 to lead Barona, which led by 11 after 10 minutes and were up 53-27 at halftime. Jerrod Rowlands added 19 points and 9 assists and Armands Skele scored 18 for Barona, which will face ASK Riga in the semis. Rashad Phillips scored 20 and Vladimir Stimac added 18 points and 9 boards for Valmiera, which evened the series after losing Game 1 at home. Mareks Jurevicus led Liepaja with 21.
