ASK Riga surprised Ventspils in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Latvian League finals with a a slim 94-99 overtime win on the road. The game was balanced and at the end of regulations 87-87. Curtis Millage led the way for the winners with 28 points, while Sandis Valters added 24. For the defending champions, Aigars Vitols had 19, Eddie Shannon 17 and Uvis Helmanis and Dusan Jelic 10 apiece.
