Belgian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: May 19, 2007
Rashad Wright - Oostende Telindus Oostende and Euphony Bree will meet for the Belgian-League title after sweeping their respective semifinals series on Saturday. Defending champion Oostende beat Sanex Antwerp G 90-97 in Game 2 of the teams' best-of-three series, while Bree ousted regular-season champ Spirou Charleroi in overtime 94-91. Game 1 of the finals is set for Wednesday, May 30. Oostende started strong, outscoring Antwerp by 7 in the first quarter and building a 40-56 halftime cushion. The hosts, paced by Len Matela and Gur Shelef, came back to make it close, but coach Sharon Drucker's side didn't waver and took the big win. Rashad Wright led six Oostende scorers in double figures with a season-best 28 points. Sam Van Rossom and Veselin Petrovic added 12 each, Eric Hicks had 11 points and 8 rebounds and Cedric Bozeman and Titus Ivory were both good for 10 points. Matela finished with 24 points and 4 steals and Shelef posted 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in defeat. Meanwhile, after Kelvin Tolbert failed to win the game with a late free throw for Bree, the hosts bounced back as Tolbert scored 7 of his team's 11 in overtime to take the win and the series. Tolbert finished with a season-high 36 points, Ben Ebong posted 16 points and 11 rebounds and Jeff Horner flirted with a triple-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Damir Krupalija scored 19 and grabbed 8 rebounds and Corey Brewer had 17 points and 7 steals in defeat.
