Austrian League playoffs, finals, Game 2: June 1, 2007
Swans of Gmunden took a crucial step on the way to defending the Austrian League title when it beat Gunners Oberwart 83-91 on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven final series. Deteri Mayes nailed 41 points, including 13 of 18 two-point shots, while Peter Hutter had 15 and Armond Williams 26 for the Gunners. The game was close with the hosts leading 22-20 at the end of the first quarter and the guests by 42-44 at halftime. During the third quarter Gmunden got a slim but decisive margin to stay in front 58-66 entering in the last 10 minutes, when they managed the match with good accuracy from the foul line. Game 3 will be Sunday, June 3.
