Belgian League Finals, Game 3: June 6, 2007 |
Telindus Oostende is only one win away from defending its Belgian League title by downing Euphony Bree 89-70 at home in Game 3 on Wednesday. Oostende leads the series 2-1 while Bree is a do-or-die situation but hosts Game 4 on Saturday. Rashad Wright led the winners with 27 points. Elvir Ovcina added 15, Veselin Petrovic had 13 and Titus Ivory 11 for Oostende. Brian Lynch had 17 points for Bree, Kelvin Tolbert added 12, Jeff Horner 11 and Odell Hodge 10. Hodge and Horner led a 2-9 run that allowed Bree to get a 21-28 lead after 10 minutes. Oostende did not panic, however, as Ovcina and Wright helped the hosts to regain the lead, 39-36. A triple by Wright and a free throw by Glen McGowan gave Oostende a 45-42 halftime edge. The hosts opened the second half with a 10-0 run that Sam Van Rossom capped with a layup, good for a 55-42 margin. Bree never recovered, as an outstanding Wright allowed Oostende to keep a double-digit margin all the way until the final buzzer.
