Adriatic League, Game 3: October 7, 2006
TRIPKOVIC Cibona and FMP are the only teams unbeaten in the Adriatic League after 3 games. Cibona downed Siroki Eronet 63-78 on the road. Brent Wright led the winners with 16 points while Marijan Mance added 14 for Cibona. FMP had even less troubles to down visiting Bosna Asa BHT 87-68 behind 18 points from Zoran Erceg. Partizan stays strong in its home court by topping Union Olimpija 84-70 in Belgrade on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are now tied at 2-1 in the standings. Uros Tripkovic and Predrag Drobnjak led the winners each with 19 points. Crvena Zvezda registered an easy 63-84 win over Geoplin Slovan in which Petar Popovic had 17 points, while Hemofarm beat Zadar 71-77 with 19 points from the everlasting Milenko Topic. In other games played this Saturday, Buducnost edged Helios 69-65 while Zagreb beat Split 90-82.

Partizan stays unbeaten at home by downing Union Olimpija 84-70 in Belgrade on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are now tied at 2-1 in the standings. Tripkovic and Drobnjak led the winners each with 19 points. Nikola Pekovic added 13, Kosta Perovic had 12 and Dusan Kecman 11 for Partizan. A recovered Teemu Rannikko had 15 points for Olimpija while Saso Ozbolt and Manu Markoishvili each added 10 for the Slovenian League champion. Pekovic, Drobnjak and Tripkovic shined in the opening period to give Partizan a 25-12 margin after 10 minutes. Olimpija never recovered, as it only managed to exchange baskets for a while. Partizan rolled after the break and a layup by Pekovic made it a 21-point game, 67-46, enough to seal the outcome. FMP is the other team unbeaten at 3-0 by downing visiting Bosna Asa BHT 87-68. Erceg led the way with 18 points. Bojan Krstovic and Branko Cvetkovic each had 14 while Dusko Savanovic added 12 in an easy home win for FMP, which extended its lead at the end of each quarter.

Crvena Zvezda had less troubles than expected to beat Geoplin Slovan 63-84 on the road on Saturday. Popovic paced Zvezda with 17 points, Milan Gurovic had 13, Tadija Dragicevic 12, Cedomir Vitkovac 11 and Billy Thomas 10. It was a close game for 25 minutes, but consecutive baskets by Popovic and a triple by Dragicevic allowed Zvezda to seal the win, 48-66, early in the final period. Cibona shares the top spot at 3-0 by downing Siroki Eronet 63-78 on the road. Wright led the winners with 16 points, Mance added 14 and Jurica Zuza 12 for Cibona, which led 53-58 after three quarters. Mance shined in the final period and great defense allowed Cibona to finish the job with a smile. Last but not least, Hemofarm escaped with a 71-77 road win against Zadar and improved to 2-1. Topic had 19 points for Hemofarm, Vladan Vukosavljevic added 17 and Predrag Suput 14. Topic and Vukosavljevic allowed Hemofarm to keep full control of the game in the final period.
