Three teams - Partizan, FMP and Hemofarm - won their respective games this weekend and tie atop the Adriatic League standings, each with a 5-1 record. Partizan downed Split 76-86 on the road on Saturday behind 17 point on 7-for-10 shooting by Kosta Perovic. Partizan broke the game early in the final period and never looked back. FMP also shares the top spot with a 5-1 record by edging Buducnost 88-83 in Zeleznik. Aleksandar had 10 of his 22 points in the final 5 minutes to allow FMP to win the game in crunch time. Meanwhile, Hemofarm edged Union Olimpija 68-73 Ljubljana on Saturday night. Bojan Bakic and Vladan Vukosavljevic led the winners each with 13 points. Free throws by Nebojsa Joksimovic and Milenko Topic made free throws in the final seconds to make Hemofarm win the game. Cibona dropped to 4-2 due to a 88-83 road win against Bosna Asa BHT. Sasa Vasiljevic had 30 points for Bosna while Davor Kus led Cibona with 19 points. In Belgrade, Milan Gurovic had 35 points to lead Crvena Zvezda in a 98-69 win over Siroki Eronet. In other games, Zagreb edged Geoplin Slovan 65-60 while Helios Domzale beat Zadar 83-76.
Partizan improved to 5-1 by downing Split 76-86 on the road on Saturday. Perovic led the winners with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting. Predrag Drobnjak added 13 points, Uros Tripkovic had 11 and Nikola Pekovic 10 for Partizan. Mateo Kedzo had 23 points for Split, which rallied from a 10-point deficit to tie at 56-56 late in the third quarter. Drobnjak and Vonteego Cummings fueled a 0-8 opening run in the final period to give Partizan a 56-66 margin, enough for the guests to cruise to a well-deserved win. FMP also shares the top spot with a 5-1 record by edging Buducnost 88-83 in Zeleznik. Rasic led the winners with 22 points, Zoran Erceg added 17, Mladen Pantic had 13 and Branko Cvetkovic 12 for FMP. Pantic had 10 points in the opening period to give FMP a 26-23 edge after 10 minutes, while Cvetkovic and Erceg allowed the hosts to extend their margin to 48-39 at halftime. Buducnost rallied in the second half and managed to get a 71-72 edge with 5 minutes to go. Rasic took over with 10 points in crunch time to make FMP get a difficult home win. Cibona dropped to 4-2 due to a 88-83 road win against Bosna Asa BHT. Vasiljevic led the winners with 30 points while Clarence Gilbert had 25 for Bosna. Kus had 19 points for Cibona, Brent Wright 13 and Barisa Krasic 11. It all came down to the final 2 minutes, as a layup by Krasic tied the game, 74-74. Gilbert hit 2 critical triples while Vasiljevic sealed the win from the free throw line.
Hemofarm joined the three-way tie atop the standings by edging Union Olimpija 68-73 in Ljubljana on Saturday night. Bakic and Vukosavljevic led the winners each with 13 points. Joksimovic added 12 points, Predrag Suput had 11 and Stefan Markovic 10 for Hemofarm. Ivica Jurkovic had 13 points for Olimpija, Hasan Rizvic added 12 while Marko Milic and Teemu Rannikko each scored 10 points for the hosts. Suput had 9 points in the opening period to give Hemofarm an 11-17 lead after 10 minutes, and even Rizvic led the Olimpija comeback, Vukosavljevic led a 0-12 run which allowed the guests to regain a 24-33 halftime
margin. Olimpija recovered again and a three-pointer by Jurkovic brought the hosts within 42-43, but Bakic scored 7 unanswered points to make Hemofarm keep a 49-55 edge after 30 minutes. Olimpija never give up and free throws by Rannikko made it a two-point game, 68-70, but free throws by Joksimovic and Topic sealed the win for Hemofarm. Crvena Zvezda improved to 4-2 by thrashing Siroki Eronet 98-69 in Belgrade on Saturday. Gurovic led the winners with 35 points, Petar Popovic added 14, Billy Thomas had 12 and Pero Antic 11 in an easy home win for Zvezda, which led 48-37 at halftime and never had troubles in the second half.
