Reigning Adriatic League champion FMP is atop the league standings with a 5-1 record, with a one-game advantage over Partizan, Cibona and Hemofarm, second at 4-2. FMP beat Partizan 81-65 in Zeleznik on Saturday. Aleksandar Rasic led the winners with 16 points, Bojan Krstovic added 14 and Dragan Labovic 11 for FMP. Kosta Perovic had 12 points for Partizan. Cibona had to battle harder to down Union Olimpija 86-83 in Zagreb to improved its record to 5-2. Davor Kus led the winners with 18 points, but Marijan Mance had 11 of his 16 points in the final period and hit the game-winning triple for Cibona in the final seconds. Manu Markoishvili had 18 points for Olimpija, now coached by Gaspar Okorn, as Tomo Mahoric resigned this week. Hemofarm dropped to 5-2 due to a 70-72 home loss against Helios Domzale. Hemofarm rallied for a 20-point deficit in the final 6 minutes but could not complete its comeback despite 22 points from Boris Savovic. Crvena Zvezda dropped to 4-3 due to a 86-83 road loss against Zadar. Carl English led the winners with 16 points. Tadija Dragicevic led Zvezda with 28 points on 16 of 18 free throws and 11 rebounds. In other games, Buducnost beat Zagreb 69-62, Bosna Asa BHT topped Geoplin Slovan 71-80 while Siroki Eronet bested Split 90-79.
Just to days after their Euroleague matchup, Cibona had to work harder to edge Union Olimpija 86-83 in Zagreb to improved its record to 5-2. Kus led the winners with 18 points on 10 of 10 free throws, but Mance was the game hero with 16 points, including the game-winning triple. Barisa Krasic had 12 points, Goran Vrbanc 11 and Brent Wright 10 for Cibona. Markoishvili had 18 points for Olimpija, Marko Milic had 13, Christian Maraker 12, Sandi Cebular 11 and Domen Lorbek 10. Olimpija led almost all the way in the opening period, but Kus followed free throws with a fast break layup for a 25-23 edge after 10 minutes. Olimpija never gave up, as a three-pointer by Teemu Rannikko brought the guests within 46-45 at halftime, while free throws by Markoishvili allowed his team to get a 63-65 edge after three quarters. Mance took over in crunch time and had 11 points in the final period. A three-pointer by Becular tied the game at 83-83, but Mance answered from downtown for a 86-83 Cibona lead. Cebular missed a three-point shot for Olimpija at the buzzer. Hemofarm dropped to 5-2 due to a 70-72 home loss against Helios Domzale. Savovic had 22 points for Hemofarm while Nebojsa Joksimovic added 12 for the hosts, who trailed 42-61 after 30 minutes. A 21-2 run brought Hemofarm within 69-70, but free throws by Ziga Zagorc allowed Helios to escape with a win.

English led the winners with 16 points. Dragicevic led Zvezda with 28 points on 16 of 18 free throws and 11 rebounds. Billy Thomas added 15 points, Petar Popovic had 12 and Steven Markovic 10 for Zvezda, who was without top scorer Milan Gurovic. Dragicevic led Zvezda to a 29-37 halftime lead, but Zadar recovered in the second half and got a 64-60 edge after 30 minutes. The game turned into a thriller when a put-back layup by Dragicevic tied it at 77-77. Back-to-back baskets by English and free throws by Rok Stipcevic allowed Zadar to get a big home win.
