Belgian League, Game 21: January 27, 2007 Spirou Charleroi needed overtime to beat Liege Basket 95-87 and stay atop the Belgian League standings with a 16-5 record. Greg Grays paced the winners with 25 points, Ralph Biggs added 18 while Andre Riddick had 11 and 10 rebounds for Charleroi. Scott Brakebill had 24 points for Liege, including a bomb from downtown which allowed the guests to complete their fourth quarter comeback and force overtime, 79-79. Grays, Riddick and Biggs combined for 16 points in the extra period to seal the win. Dexia Mons-Hainaut took the big showdown of this week by edging Telindus Oostende 81-75 at home, in a rematch of last year's Belgian League finals. Mons improved to 12-9 while Oostende dropped to 10-10. Johnny Taylor led the way for Mons with 19 points, George Evans added 18, Kevin Houston had 17 and Bingo Merriex 11. Rashad Wright had 22 points for Oostende, Eric Hicks 19 and Sam Van Rossom 15. Mons led 69-51 after three quarters and even when Oostende managed to get within 71-67 with 3 minutes to go, Taylor and Houston hit one triple apiece to keep Mons out of trouble. In other games, Verviers-Pepinster topped Euphony Bree 90-79, Okapi Aalstar downed Basket Gr Leuven 79-89 while Sanex Antwerp G defeated Atomia Brussels 94-90 behind 27 points from Dwayne Archbold and 24 from Gur Shelef.
