Polish League, Game 17: January 27-28, 2007 |
Prokom Trefl Sopot remained locked with Turow Zgorzelec atop the Polish League standings after holding on for a 77-73 win over Polpak Swiecie. Turow's 82-51 thrashing of Kager Gdynia left the two teams with identical 14-3 records – two wins more than third place ASCO Slask Wroclaw, which lost 72-66 to Polpharma Starogard behind 17 points apiece by Patrick Okafor and Greg Harrington. Anwil Wloclawek secured a 72-78 away win at Czarni Slupsk thanks to Goran Jaogdnik, who scored key points and was efficient form the line down the stretch. Gipsar Stal Ostrow scored its 11th win by topping Unia Tarnow on the road 70-93 as Wojciech Szawarski fired in 20 points. In a game between teams from the bottom of the standings, Kotwica Kolobrzeg beat Polonia Warszawa 88-77. Rafal Bigus led the winners with 22 points and 9 rebounds, while Grady Reynolds had 25 for Polonia.
Prokom Trefl Sopot struggled in the first three quarters against Polpak Swiecie, but Adam Wojcik scored the decisive points shortly before the buzzer. The visitors tried to tie the game with three pointers, but they missed them all and Prokom won 77-73. Wojcik finished with 14 points, as did Christian Dalmau. Filip Dylewicz, Donatas Slanina, Jasmin Hukic and Michael Andersen also scored in double figures. Polpak center Harding Nana led his team with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Turow Zgorzelec demolished Kager Gdynia 82-51. Thomas Kelati had 29 points for Turow, while Gintaras Kadziulis posted 12 for Kager. Anwil Wloclawek secured a 72-78 away win at Czarni Slupsk thanks to Goran Jaogdnik, who scored key points and was efficient form the line down the stretch. Andrzej Pluta drilled five three-pointers on his way to 17 points for Anwil. Miah Davis and Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz scred 15 each for Czarni.
