Baltic League, All-Star Game: February 3, 2007 |
Tanoka Beard was named the MVP of the Baltic League All-Star Game after collecting 12 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks as the Foreign Stars edged the Baltic Stars 100-98. The foreigners led 53-51 at halftime and the game remained on brink until the final minute. Dalron Johnson scored 16 points and Kirk Penney added 13 for the winners, while Martin Muursepp led the local heroes with 16 points and 10 boards and Eurelijus Zukauskas and Arturas Jomantas produced 15 apiece. Eighteen-year-old Martynas Gecevicius of Lietuvos Rytas won the three-point shootout by beating veteran Estonian Gert Kullamae in the final, while Mantas Kalnietis of Zalgiris Kaunas soared to win the slam dunk contest, receiving a perfect score on his last attempt for throwing down a slam from the free-throw line over some cheerleaders.
