Jure Lalic - Zadar KK Zadar is the Croatian Kresimir Cosic Cup winner! Zadar won its third consecutive Croatian Cup title and sixth overall by downing KK Zagreb 90-93 on Saturday. Jure Lalic led the winners with 19 points. Todor Gecevski posted a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, Carl English had 17 points, Juby Johnson 12 and Jakov Vladovic 11 for Zadar. Dwayne Broyles led Zagreb with 28 points, Josip Sesar added 14 and Kenny Taylor and Denis Vrsaljko each scored 10 points. Zadar got off to a really strong start in the title game, opening up with a 9-0 run and taking a 16-6 lead after 6 minutes. A triple from Vladovic and free throws from Frano Colak and English gave their team a 31-14 advantage early in the second quarter. Zagreb found a go-to guy in Broyles, as he highlighted a rain of three-pointers that brought his team within 46-42 at halftime. Zagreb managed to tie it at 46-46 and then again at 55-55, but failed to take the lead. It all came down to the final 5 minutes, as Lalic fired in one from downtown for a 75-70 Zadar lead. Zagreb clawed its way back to 83-82, but free throws allowed Zadar to win the game down the stretch and lift yet another Croatian Cup title.
