 Barons/LMT edged ASK Riga 79-78 in Game 5 of the Latvian League finals to win the championship for the first time in club history. The Barons won the best-of-seven series 4-1 and guard Armands Skele was named playoffs MVP after averaging 16.4 points on 63% two-point and 48% three-point shooting plus 3.8 assists per game. On Sunday, Barons won the closest game of the series thanks to another great shooting night and a big game from Demetrius Alexander, who posted 22 points and 8 rebounds. Joao Paulo added 17 points, Skele 13 and Dontell Jefferson had 10 for Barons, who won despite committing 24 turnovers.
