Lithuanian League playoffs, quarterfinals, Game 1: April 9-15, 2008

Lithuanian League powerhouses Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris Kaunas cruised to easy wins in their opening games of the best-of-three quarterfinal playoffs, while Siauliai and Alytus worked harder to go up 1-0. L. Rytas blasted Aisciai-Atletas 126-59 in a thoroughly one-sided affair that was 37-9 after 10 minutes. Martynas Gecevicius led the winners with 22 points and 7 assists, Marijonas Petravicius added 21 points in 12 minutes, Chuck Eidson scored 18, Andrius Slezas 17, Jared Jordan had 15 points and 8 assists and Arturas Jomatas finished with 11. Meanwhile Zalgiris pasted Sakalai 110-73 behind 17 points and 11 rebounds from Damir Markota. Marcus Brown also scored 17, Marko Popovic had 14, Goran Jurak and Mantas Kalnietis added 13 each and Jonas Maciulis 11. In the other series openers Siauliai topped Nevezis 63-77 on the road as Donatas Zavackas posted 13 points and 11 rebounds and Alytus bested Neptunas 97-94 thanks to 27 points and 14 rebounds from Nerijus Varnelis.
