Romanian League Semifinals, Game 4: May 8, 2008

CSU Asesoft Ploiesti and U Mobitelco Cluj-Napoca advanced to the Romanian League finals by registering respective 3-1 wins in their best-of-three semifinal series against Rapid Dromeas Bucuresti and CSU Atlassib Sibiu. Defending champion Asesoft edged Rapid 84-87 on the road in Game 4 on Thursday. De'Angelo Alexander led the winners with 18 points. Rashard Griffith posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, Arvydas Cepulis had 15 points while Bojan Obradovic got 13 for Asesoft. MIlovic had 17 points for Rapid while Bogdan Popescu, Ivan Stefanovic and Ivan Krstic each added 16 for the hosts, that trailed 37-42 at halftime. Asesoft boosted its margin to 64-73 after 30 minutes but Rapid got within 81-83 with a minute to go. Griffith and Adrian Blidaru allowed Asesoft to seal the outcome. Meanwhile, Mobitelco topped Sibiu 87-74 at home in Game 4 to win the series 3-1 behind 17 points from Levar Seals and 16 from Milan Medvedj. MORE |
