Romanian League Semifinals, Game 1: May 2, 2008

CSU Asesoft Ploiesti and U Mobitelco Cluj-Napoca got closer to reach the Romanian League finals, as both teams registered respective wins in the CS Rapid Dromeas Bucuresti and CSU Atlassib Sibiu in the best-of-five semifinal series openers on Friday. Bojan Obradovic paced the winners with 20 points while Reggie Elliott and De'Angelo Alexander each had 13 for Ploiesti. Bogdan Popescu had 18 points on 4-for-6 three-pointers for Rapid, that led 55-59 after 30 minutes. Obradovic and Alexander took over in the fourth quarter to lead Ploiesti to a big win. Meanwhile, Mobitelco upset Sibiu 64-68 on the road in Game 1 also on Friday. Milan Medvedj led the winners with 17 points, Zoran Krstanovic added 15 and 15 rebounds while Brad Buckman got 13 points for Mobitelco. Game 2 takes place this weekend.
