Partizan outdueled Cibona 63-49 in the final game of the Adriatic League to win the league's trophy for the third straight year. It was as close as 52-49 with five minutes to go, but Partizan just took over on defense, not allowing a single Cibona point the rest of the way. Novica Velickovic was named Final Four MVP for the winners. He scored 14 of his team-high 17 points in the first half, helping Partizan earn a 38-27 halftime lead. Velickovic also pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds, while Stephane Lasme added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Alan Anderson fought like a lion to lead Cibona with 22 points and 5 steals, and Jared Homan added 11 points. MORE |

| The eighth edition of the Adriatic League starts as interesting as ever, with teams from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia fighting for the title. Defending champion Partizan saw some of its main players leave the team. It kept Uros Tripkovic, Novica Velickovic or Milenko Tepic while adding Aleksandar Rasic or Vukasin Aleksic, however. Red Star is one of the favourites this season, as it landed legendary head coach Svetislav Pesic and put together a very competitive roster featuring newcomers Lawrence Roberts, Marko Marinovic, Mario Keselj or Vladimir Stimac to play alongside franchise forward Tadija Dragicevic. Union Olimpija is back with Vlado Ilievski, Marko Milic, Jasmin Hukic or Miha Zupan, so the team is set to fight for the title, too. Cibona brought back Davor Kus, Niksa Prkacin, Damir Markota and Branimir Longin, as well as adding Robert Troha or Earl Calloway. Hemofarm Stada hopes to stay competitive and keep its winning options alive with Nebojsa Joksimovic, Vladan Vukosavljevic and Milan Macvan. FMP is set to trust on Dragan Labovic, Predrag Samardziski and up-and-coming youngsters Andrija Milutinovic, Bojan Subotic and Dejan Musli. Zadar was second at the end of last year's regular season and is set to keep its status with players like Romel Beck, Dejan Ivanov, Malik Dixon or Todor Gecevski. Meanwhile, Buducnost m:tel will be a tough team to beat, especially back home in Podgorica, with Nikola Otasevic and Nenad Misanovic as its references. Split CO, with Eddie Shannon and Antonio Grant and Geoplin Slovan, and Zagreb CO, led by Ante Tomic, Dzenan Rahimic and Jakov Vladovic, are set to fight for a playoff spot. |
