Partizan stayed atop the Adriatic League standings with a 18-2 record by downing FMP 78-67 in Belgrade on Sunday. Novica Velickovic paced the winners with 17 points while Jan Vesely and Stephane Lasme each added 12 for Partizan. Dragan Labovic had 13 points for FMP, that went down to 8-12. In a battle of Euroleague powerhouses, Cibona prevailed 75-69 over Union Olimpija as Marin Rozic stepped up with 2 triples in final 3 minutes to make sure that Cibona won the game. Despite falling 80-67 to Bosna ASA BHT, Red Star stayed on the second place in the standings with a 16-4 record. Goran Ikonic and Ivan Ivanovic combined for 40 points and 11 assists for the Bosnian champs. Third-place Hemofarm Stada topped Zagreb CO 86-71 as Nebojsa Joksimovic nailed 5 triples on his way to 20 points for the winners. Zadar picked up a 62-78 road victory over Krka thanks to big scoring nights from Rok Stipcevic and Julius Johnson. Helios Domzale won a 81-78 thriller over Buducnost m:tel. Split CO beat Vojvodina Srbijagas 94-90 behind 28 points from Eddie Shannon, who scored 15 points on three-pointers.
Partizan left no doubt about its power by downing FMP 78-67 in Belgrade on Sunday. Velickovic paced the winners with 17 points while Vesely and Lasme each added 12 for Partizan. Labovic had 13 points for FMP while Nemanja Protic added 12. Slavko Vranes and Vesely fueled a 10-3 opening run for Partizan. A three-pointer by Petar Bozic and free throws by Strahinja Milosevic boosted the hosts' margin to 25-15 after 10 minutes. Velickovic and Vranes took over in the second quarter for a 45-33 halftime margin. Nothing changed after the break, as Partizan kept a safe lead all the way until the final buzzer. In Zagreb, Cibona trailed 34-41 at halftime but evened the score by the end of the third quarter, and then delivered a decisive punch in the last 5 minutes of the game to edge Union Olimpija 75-69. Alan Anderson came off the bench to lead all scorers with 15 points for the winners, Earl Calloway notched 14 points, Marin Rozic had 12 and Nikola Prkacin 11. For Olimpija, Jasmin Hukic finished with 13 points, Vladimir Golubovic scored 12, while Damjan Rudez and Saso Ozbolt chipped in with 10 points apiece for the guests, who got hurt by their 19 team-turnovers.
Hemofarm beat Zagreb 86-71, paced by Joksimovic with 20 points and Miljan Pavkovic with 13 points and a game-high 8 assists. Marton Bader matched Pavkovic with 13 points and Milan Macvan added 12 points to go with a game-high 7 rebounds. Zadar handled Krka 62-78 as Stipcevic shined with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Johnson drilled 5 triples to match Stipcevic in scoring with 21 points, while big man Todor Gecevski recorded a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Helios Domzale beat Buducnost 81-78 behind 21 points from Nicholas Jacobson. Vladimir Dasic paced the visitors with 20 points and 5 steals, Vladimir Micov added 12 points and Ivan Maras 11. Bosna topped Red Star 80-67 behind 22 points and 6 assists from Ikonic and 18 points to go with 5 assists from Ivanovic. For Red Star, Marko Marinovic netted 14 points and Elmedin Kikanovic added 12. Marinovic drilled 3 triples for the guests, but his teammates combined for only 2 from downtown, while Bosna players hit an impressive 13 from 28 on three-pointers.
