Austrian League playoffs, quarterfinals, Game 4: May 3, 2009
Defending champion Raiffeisen Furstenfeld and Arkadia Traiskirchen joined Allianz Swans Gmunden in the Austrian League semifinals, while WBC Kraftwerk Wels needed two overtimes to beat Oberwart Gunners and force a deciding fifth game in their best-of-five series. The Panthers of Furstenfeld bested Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg 80-91 behind a well-balanced effort with five scorers in double figures. The champs built a 34-47 halftime advantage and enjoyed a poor shooting night from the Dukes to claim the win and the series. Miljan Goljovic scored 16 and Samo Grum had 15 for the winners. Traiskirchen crushed the Kapfenberg Bulls in overtime to take a 100-86 win and the series 3-1. The game was tied at 81-81 after 40 minutes, but the extra five belonged solely to Traiskirchen. Titus Nicoara and Deven Mitchell led the hosts with 22 points apiece and Fabricio David Vay added 18 points and 14 boards. Wayne Arnold led the Bulls with 22 and Ramiz Suljanovic recorded 21 points and 15 rebounds. Wels outgunned the Gunners on the road 112-118 as Bruce Fields scored 35 and Tilo Klette had 19 and 12 boards. Jae Youngblood led Oberwart with 38 points and 12 rebounds.
