Austrian League playoffs, semifinals, Game 2: May 14, 2009

Allianz Swans Gmunden cruised to a 2-0 lead in the Austrian League semifinals, while WBC Kraftwork Wels outlasted defending champion BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers 99-113 in overtime to even that series at 1-1. Shelton Colwell dominated inside with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots to lead Gmunden to a 99-80 victory over the Traiskirchen Lions. The Swans raced out to a big early lead before the Lions came back and tied the score at 38-38 by halftime. However Gmunden outscored Traiskirchen 30-17 in the third quarter and never looked back en route to a 19-point victory. Anthony Fisher added 16 points and 7 assists, Peter Hutter scored 15 and dished 6 assists, Deteri Mayes scored 13 and Elijah Palmer 12. Deven Mitchell paced the Lions with 20 points and Fabricio Vay added 19. Bruce Fields, Davor Lamesic and Brandon Thomas combined for 85 points, including several key baskets in the extra period to lead Wels to victory. At the end of 40 tense minutes, Lamesic put Wels up 2 with 11.3 seconds to play, but Austen Rowland hit a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score at 90-90 and force overtime. In the overtime period, Wels regained the momentum behind the three-point shooting of Fields and Thomas and held on for the win. Fields totaled 33 points, Lamesic netted 28 and Thomas added 24 points and 7 assists for the winners. Sasa Ocokoljic posted 23 points and 10 rebounds for Furstenfeld in defeat.
