Lithuanian League Quarterfinals, Game 2: April 15-17, 2009

 Reigning champion Zalgiris Kaunas, Lietuvos Rytas and Siauliai all cruised into the Lithuanian League semifinals with convincing Game 2 wins to sweep their quarterfinals series, while Nevezis and Neptunas meet on Saturday to determine the last remaining semifinal spot. Freshly crowned Eurocup champ L. Rytas routed Sakalai 70-90 on Friday night to sweep that series. L. Rytas led by 10 after 10 minutes and later outscored Sakalai 13-24 in the third quarter to settle the outcome. Milko Bjelica led the charge with 16 points, Arturas Jomantas added 14, Steponas Babrauskas 11 and Evaldas Dainys netted 10. Grigorijus Suchovtsovas paced Sakaliai with 19. Zalgiris waited till the fourth quarter to put away Aisciai 66-86. A 13-27 last 10 minutes made the difference for Zalgiris, which got 30 points from Dainius Salenga. Paulius Jankunas added 19 and Tadas Klimavicius had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the champs. Egidijus Dimsa led Aisciai with 13. On Wednesday, Siauliai outscored Kaunas Tribet 21-49 in the second half to record a 65-91 win and sweep that series 2-0. Gintaras Kadziulis scored 29 and Saulius Kuzminskas recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for Siauliai. Meanwhile, Neptunas bested Nevezis 84-70 to even that series at 1-1. The hosts led 45-28 at halftime and cruised from that point. Arvydas Eitutavicius led Neptunas with 22 points.
