Baltic League, Regular Season, Game 18: March 11-14, 2009

 Lietuvos Rytas fell to Lithuanian archrival Zalgiris Kaunas 75-77 in the Baltic League regular season finale, but can take consilation in the fact that it had already clinched first place a week earlier. Paulius Jankunas had a monster game for Zalgiris, whose 13-5 record is second only to L. Rytas's 14-4. Estonian Kalev/Cramo finished the regular season with a 96-73 victory over Ventspils, good enough for a third place in the standings at 12-6. John Linehan and Nate Fox combined for 9 triples to finish with 19 points apiece for the winners. ASK Riga is also 12-6, but fourth in the standings. ASK won two games during the week. First, ASK edged Valmiera 85-81 behind a combined 45 points from Ulvis Helmanis and Dairis Bertans. Then, ASK picked up a 64-82 road victory over Nevezis as Helmanis and Marius Runkauskas combined for 8 of the winners' impressive 13 three-pointers. Barons/LMT Riga also beat Valmiera: 80-76. Armand Skele paced the Latvian champions with a game-high 25 points. Siauliai sealed the fifth place in the standings by downing Tartu Rock 71-81.
Zalgiris won a 75-77 road thriller over L. Rytas in front of 8,800 spectators at the Siemens arena. With 5 seconds left on the clock, Tadas Klimavicius made both free throws to give Zalgiris a 2-point lead and the hosts weren't able to set up a game-tying – or winning – shot. Jankunas paced the winners with 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals, Dainius Salenga added 14 points and Klimavicius chipped in with 10. For L. Rytas, Chuck Eidson led the scoring with 20 points, Marijonas Petravicius netted 15 points and Mindaugas Lukaiskis had 11 points.
ASK topped Valmiera 85-81 as Helmanis produced 24 points, Bertans scored 21 points and Andrius Mazutis netted 17 points. Ingus Bankevics had a big night with 31 points for Valmiera. Three days later, ASK beat Nevezis 64-82 as Runkauskas notched 20 points, Raitis Grafs added 16 points, Aigars Vitols had 15 points, and Helmanis recorded a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Barons/LMT defeated Valmiera 80-76 as Skele scored 25 points and dished 5 assists, Kaspars Berzins had 15 points to go with 13 rebounds, Dainius Adomaitis added 13 points and Patrick Okafor had 10. Ronald Clark paced Valmiera with 22 points. Siauliai handled Tartu Rock 71-81, led by 19 points from Gintaras Kadziulis. For Tartu Rock, Viktor Sanikidze had 23 points, George Tsintsadze notched 14 points, and veteran big man Tanoka Beard recorded a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
