· In recent seasons, Memphis became a legitimate challenger in the NBA's Western Conference, posting consecutive seasons of 50, 45 and 49, though it was swept in the first round of the playoffs each season. However injuries and aging players took their toll on the team and last season Memphis slumped to one of its worst campaigns in recent history.
