· Virtus Lottomatica Roma was founded in 1960, won the Italian championship in 1983 and became the Euroleague champion in 1984, defeating Barcelona in the final. Virtus won a Korac Cup title in 1992 by defeating Scavolini in the two-way finals. Roma reached the Korac Cup final in 1993, losing to Adecco Milan in the finals.

· The 2002-03 season was one of best seasons Lottomatica has ever had in the domestic league, finishing 25-9 and in second-place at the end of the regular season. Lottomatica qualified for the 2003-04 Euroleague and hosted the opening game against Barcelona, but didn’t reach the Top 16.

· Last season, Lottomatica went one step further by making it to the Euroleague Top 16. It also made it to the Italian League semifinals, locking a spot for the 2007-08 Euroleague.
