USL result, Day 4: Maccabi Elite 79-103 Benetton Treviso

Benetton Treviso outclassed Maccabi Tel Aviv 79-103 to win its first game of the ULEB Summer League on Sunday. Benetton finishes the tourney with a 1-3 record and seventh place, while Maccabi returns home 0-4. Ken Tutt led all scorers with 21 points and Wojciek Barycz posted 20 points and 10 rebounds for Benetton. After a close opening period, Tutt scored 6 during a 0-13 second-quarter run that broke the game open. Nikica Sljuka's free throws kept Maccabi within 6, however back-to-back triples by Tutt and Ron Slay helped Benetton to a 43-52 halftime lead. Jean-Marc Kraidy and Jason Smith tried to keep Maccabi in the picture, but Benetton always remained comfortably ahead and then Marko Markovic, Rod Grizzard Barycz sealed the win early in the fourth as Benetton coasted the rest of the way. Grizzard added 13 points, point guard John Gilchrist had 12 points and 7 assists, Slay scored 19 and Markovic was good for 9 points and 5 steals. Lance Soderberg, Roland Hendlein and Smith led Maccabi with 15 points apiece. Hendlein added 11 rebounds and 5 assists as well, while Sljuka had 11.
