Player to Watch: Robert Hite
Robert Hite - Galatasaray Cafe CrownRobert Hite’s first season in Europe has been a success on all counts. Despite joining the club relatively late in the summer, the athletic guard found his place at Galatasaray Café Crown quickly and has emerged as a strong scorer and defender, helping the team to its best run in European competition. Hite, 24, made an impact in the regular season, winning the ULEB Cup’s Week 7 co-MVP honors and finishing in the top 10 in steals. His production continued to grow in the elimination rounds with a 20-point performance in both the team’s Last 32 and Last 16 series. Hite has played more minutes than any other Galatasaray player this season and ranks second on the team in scoring and first in steals. He is also a great player to have on the floor at the end of a close game, because of his ability to go to the basket strong and draw fouls and the fact the he is a top-class free-throw shooter who didn’t miss at all in the four elimination round games. Hite may not be the most well-known player on his team’s roster, but there is no doubt that he has played a major role in Galatasaray’s run to the Final Eight and will continue to be a player to watch in Turin.
