ULEB Cup Draw profile: KK Buducnost
KK Buducnost A veteran ULEB Cup representing a new country, Montenegro, is set to make its first trip to the elimination rounds in his third season in the competition. Buducnost is the first Montenegrin team to reach this far in the competition and hopes to go deep in the competition, backed by a loyal base of diehard fans. Buducnost did not have a good start, registering a 66-75 road loss against eventual Group E champion Triumph Lyubertsy, but soon got its momentum going. Buducnost downed the Artland Dragons 76-79 behind 17 points each from Vladimir Micov and Vladislav Dragojlovic and then moved up to 2-1 by topping Benetton Fribourg 73-82 in Switzerland with 22 points and 8 rebounds from an unstoppable Dragojlovic. It was the start of a four-game winning streak that left Buducnost tied with Triumph for the top spot at the halfway mark of the regular season, each with a 4-1 record. Bojan Bakic had 17 points and led 5 players in double digits to make Buducnost Bojan Bakic - Buducnostthrash Hapoel Galil Elyon 93-68, and then led his team with 22 points off the bench to get a valuable 72-79 road triumph against Allianz Swans Gmunden. Buducnost a decisive game for first place against Triumph Lyubertsy but bounced back with consective home wins to move up to 6-2. Buducnost beat the Dragons 76-65 behind 15 points from Ivan Maras and then added a 74-63 win against Fribourg. Once again Maras led the winners with 16 points. A 82-81 road loss against Galil Elyon did not stop Buducnost from finishing second in Group E. Buducnost, however, is the worst team in rebounds left in the competition so that is a major weakness to fix from now on. Micov, Dragoljovic, Bakic and Nemanja Gordic has been its pillars so far. Only Micov (32 mpg.) plays more than 24 minutes per night, which says enough about Buducnost's depth. Buducnost is ready for bigger challenges in the ULEB Cup and is ready to become an unconvenient opponent anytime, anywhere.

POST-DRAW REACTIONS

KK Buducnost head coach, Dejan Radonjic:"We will play against a high-quality rival which entered in this competition with great ambition. They also made their roster with that in mind. We played two times in the current season and there is no secret among us. There would be a secret only if Hemofarm hires any new players before our first game. Having considered that they lost Goran Jagodnik, it is not impossible to think they'll bring in a new player. We want to prepare as well as possible before first game in Vrsac and to do our best in it."
