BC Kyiv inks Brent Wright, Goran Jeretin

Ukrainian powerhouse BC Kyiv has taken a major step forwards to reach the 2008-09 Eurocup regular season through the second qualifying round by inking power forward Brent Wright and playmaker Goran Jeretin. Wright (203, 30) returns to Europe's second competition for the first time since becoming the ULEB Cup MVP in the 2004-05 season, in which he averaged 18.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 14 games playing for Ventspils. He arrives from Ural Great, where Wright averaged 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds in 22 Russian League games, helping his team to make it to the semifinals. Wright has also played for Cibona in Croatia, Oostende in Belgium, Plannja Basket in Sweden, Maccabi Haifa and Bnei Hasharon in Israel, the Greenville Groove in the NBDL, as well as for Celana Bergamo and Capo D'Orlando in Italy. Wright has been a domestic league champion in four different countries. Wright became the Swedish League champion with Plannja in 2004, won the 2005 Latvian League title with Ventspils, as well as lifting the 2006 Belgian League trophy with Oostende and helping Cibona to get another Croatian League title in 2007. Meanwhile, Jeretin (192, 28) missed the entire season with Alba Berlin due to a ACL injury. He has averaged 5.5 points in 10 Euroleague games with Maccabi in the 2006-07 season. Jeretin has also played for Buducnost in Montenegro, as well as for Crvena Zvezda, Lovcen, Primorje and Ibon Niksic in Serbia. He won the Israeli League title with Maccabi in 2007, as well as lifting the Serbian League trophy with Zvezda in 2004 and 2006.
