Asvel Basket has announced the arrival of versatile forward Gabe Muoneke, who will play for the French powerhouse next season. Muoneke (200, 30) arrives from Saba Battery in Iran, his third team in the 2007-08 season. He had previously shined in the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, averaging 26.8 points in 12 games before inking a three-month deal with Tau Ceramica. Muoneke averaged 6.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11 Euroleague games with Tau. Muoneke has played virtually everywhere since he started his pro career at Pinar Karsiyaka in December 2000. He has also played for Boca Juniors in Argentina, the Columbus Riverdragons and the Roanoke Dazzle in the NBDL, Cangrejeros de Santurce and Maratonistas de Coamo in Puerto Rico, Purefoods TJ Hot Dogs in the Philippines, Caceres in Spain, Zhejiang Guangsha and Beijing Olympians in China, as well as for Pusan KTF Magic Wings and Seoul SK Knights in Korea. "I have followed Gabe for a long time. He is an all-around player that can help to link our backcourt with our big men," head coach Vincent Collet said. "He can hit three-pointers, be aggressive and play in the low post, as well as bringing toughness and defensive skills to our backcourt."
