Spartak: head coach Trifunovic steps down

 Spartak St. Petersburg announced on Wednesday that head coach Aleksandar Trifunovic tendered his resignation and that the club management accepted it. Trifunovic, 42, joined the team in July. Under Trifunovic, Spartak was 0-4 in the Russian League. Assistant coaches Sergei Grishayev and Milan Kotarats will lead Spartak in the interim until a new head coach is named.
