Stars come out for adidas Trophy Tour

Once again this year, basketball fans at the Final Four got their unique chance to take a photo with the Euroleague trophy, and their favorite Turkish Airlines EuroLeague stars.

Players from each of the four teams clashing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four semifinals last night, came to the adidas Store at the Marmara Forum on Saturday morning as part of the annual adidas Trophy Tour. Luigi Datome of Fenerbahce Istanbul, Vangelis Mantzaris of Olympiacos Piraeus and Anthony Randolph of Real Madrid accompanied the coveted trophy before signing autographs and having their photos taken.

"I won this trophy twice, but it is always very nice and a great feeling to be close to it again because you feel excitement," Manztaris said after signing more than a hundred autographs and posing for as many photos, mostly with Fenerbahce fans, who lead in the numbers game at the FanZone. "We will try to do our best to win it for the third time on Sunday."

The event, like every year, drew attention of many basketball fans, and just about anybody around. While Mantzaris already won this trophy twice with Olympiacos, Fenerbahce and Datome are still in search of their first EuroLeague title, and making the EuroLeague trophy all theirs. The crowd at the adidas store during the Trophy Tour clearly showed support that Fenerbahce has in its home city.

"I think that all over the city, millions of fans are with us," Datome said. "Not everybody is going to be in the arena but I can see the excitement of our fans for this weekend. That's why we're here, that's why we will play the final to win."

However, this was not the only chance for fans to admire and get close to the prize that all players from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague teams start battling for back in October. The trophy is on display for the public at the adidas stand in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague FanZone all during Final Four weekend, where everybody can make a stop to see and take photos with the same cup that the new EuroLeague champions will raise to the rafters at the Sinan Erdem Dome on Sunday night.
