ESPN AND TURKISH AIRLINES ANNOUNCE SCHEDULE AND SYNDICATION DETAILS FOR NEW DOCUMENTARY SERIES
Basketball Capitals premiers May 14th; Series to appear on ESPN channels and local networks around the world
With just under 10 days until the Euroleague Final Four in London, ESPN and Turkish Airlines today unveil the full broadcast details for the new documentary series, Basketball Capitals presented by Turkish Airlines. The series profiles the culture and passion for basketball within the world’s most iconic cities, and is set to premier across ESPN networks in Europe, Middle, East, and Africa on Tuesday, May 14th. In addition, ESPN has reached new syndication agreements with ten television partners around Europe, proudly bringing the show to millions of fans locally across EMEA.
This first group of eleven television partners will be joined by others in the weeks ahead, as ESPN continues discussions with potential distributors. In addition, ESPN networks around the world will televise the documentaries.
Television coverage of Basketball Capitals presented by Turkish Airlines will be seen in dozens of countries, reaching hundreds of millions of homes. “The series seeks to educate, entertain, and enlighten viewers and we are pleased to collaborate with premier broadcast partners to extend Basketball Capitals to even more fans across Europe, Middle East, and Africa,” said ESPN’s Esteban Apraez, Senior Director, International Marketing Solutions. The series helps illustrate the strong relationship Turkish Airlines has with European sports through first-hand accounts and profiles of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague teams that call these destinations home, including Real Madrid, Alba Berlin, Besiktas JK Istanbul, Fenerbahce Ülker Istanbul, Galatasaray, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Panathinaikos Athens.
