James receives Top Scorer Trophy at Final Four

The Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz tipped off on Friday with a very special guest in the house. Mike James of AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan, this season's Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy, went out of his way to come to the Final Four from Italy to receive his award from Euroleague Basketball President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu prior to the first semifinal. James was not going to be able to attend Saturday's 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Awards Ceremony due to his club's commitments in its domestic league, but that was not going to keep him from taking his rightful place among the best players in the EuroLeague this season. In addition to his Top Scorer Trophy, James was voted by fans and media to the All-EuroLeague Second Team, another first-time distinction in his career, so he picked up that award as well. James was due to stay on to witness both semifinals on Friday before making the trip back to Italy on Saturday.

Gear up for a busy Friday!

An entire season of basketball has brought us here... the semifinals at the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four are only hours away. It's raining outside in Vitoria-Gasteiz, but even that cannot dampen the spirits of the fans in the Basque capital, who can expect it to be raining three-pointers tonight at Fernando Buesa Arena. But before Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes take the floor in the first game, there is a day full of events scheduled all around the city – and online for those following at home.

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague FanZone officially opens at 10:45 local time with a One Team Session and an Ambassador Exhibition Game, followed by a photo opportunity for all fans in attendance with the Final Four Ambassadors. The Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals continue with the second round of games at Polideportivo Mendizorrotza. The first of the four games tips off at 09:00 and can be watched free of charge at the arena or via live stream at www.adidasngt.com. Vitoria-Gasteiz is buzzing with basketball with many other ongoing events, too. But most important of all is that at the end of the day, there will only be two teams standing in the fight for EuroLeague supremacy!
