Panellinios took care of business early and decisively on the way to handing Gran Canaria 2014 a 89-60 defeat in the Group G opener for both teams on Tuesday. Fisher scored again, this time on the inside, but Djuro Ostojic responded for the home team with a two-pointer. After the two squads traded trips to the foul line, Carroll hit a layup to get the lead under 20 at 66-47 going into the final stanza. Smith slashed in for a layup to start the fourth period as Gran Canaria was totally taken out of the game by Panellinios's defense.
