Larkin sank a triple soon after the break, but Thomas and Ian Vougioukas each scored down low for a 46-41 Panathinaikos lead. Singleton led a 0-5 Efes run that Papapetrou stopped with a bomb from downtown and a jumper to keep the Greens in front. Larkin answered with 6 quick points to complete Efes's comeback, 51-54. "I believe that we played a good game today. We played with a lot of energy. We were able to control the defensive part of the game and the rebounds against a team that is very well-structured right now. They always try to take advantage of our weaknesses and the secret was that we got help from players who came off the bench today. We brought out a lot of energy on defense and were able to match up with the big lineup that Efes had. At the same time, they had three creators on the floor, with Micic, Simon and Larkin, so we were able to match up with these players. If you look at Efes and the way they play the game, they are one of the best teams at extra passes, stretching the floor. We matched up against them and were able to control the game."

"It was a road game and of course, a strong game. Panathinaikos needs this game, for sure. We were more relaxed because we just won two days ago in Istanbul and came here with four victories. Some players in our team put great hustle tonight but for me, some players' hustle and attitude in this game is unacceptable. This is not respect to their friends who put hustle. Okay, we played terrible and shot terrible tonight, 30 shots [from three-point range] and only 6 baskets. Micic and Kruno [Simon], our two scoring players, combined for 1 of 15 three-point shots. Our point guard made 7 turnovers. This is unacceptable for me, that a player, two days ago, was the MVP, had 7 turnovers and 0 of 6 three-point shots tonight. These are unprofessional things. Of course, we are in the beginning of the EuroLeague and anybody can beat each other; it is a strong EuroLeague, but we must change something in our mentality because we will many more double weeks in this EuroLeague period. Panathinaikos made a great game, especially Rice and Papapetrou were perfect."

"It was a good game - a big one. I am proud of the team, Pap [Georgios Papagiannis] stepped up. We needed it, especially coming off a loss. Big game, big win. We have to continue and it is a long season, we have to continue and keep getting better."
CALATHES, NICK
Panathinaikos OPAP Athens
"It felt good to get a win. Guys stepped up huge. Papagiannis and Tyrese [Rice] were the keys to the game today. Getting that performance from those guys really got us this win and that is what we need, for guys to step up like this and play good basketball. We played against a very good team and really needed this win. It feels good to get a win."
RICE, TYRESE
Panathinaikos OPAP Athens
"That felt good. I think it was due for something good to happen. Nick [Calathes] has been playing 35-36 minutes per game and we have to help him. That is our leader, that is the captain, and it is our job to do our role and help him out. I think the defense was contagious. The atmosphere was great and we fed off that, but first of all, our intensity on defense was great. To hold a team like this to 70 points, that is not common. They are used to putting 90 on the board against everybody."
