Mega is first finalist, Real and Zvezda to play for other spot on Saturday
There will be a new champion to be crowned at the Eurolague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament on Sunday as U18 Rytas Vilnius is out of the race to renew the title. Friday started with Group A games in which U18 Mega Bemax Belgrade defeated U18 FC Bayern Munich by 87-74, thanks to 14 points apiece by Marko Andric and Aleksa Markovic. Later, Mega punched a ticket to the championship game when U18 Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv survived U18 Zalgiris Kaunas, 70-71 with one decisive free throw by Deni Avdija, who led Maccabi with 19 points. Things were not decided in Group B as it will all come down to a decisive game on Saturday between U18 Real Madrid and U18 Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade. In the early afternoon, Real blasted Rytas 98-72 with Golden Dike dominating with 14 points. In the fourth game of the day, Zvezda got the best of U18 Valencia Basket, 80-72, with 23 points by Bojan Tomasevic. These results leave both Real and Zvezda 2-0 and they will face each other for a spot in the championship against Mega on Sunday, at the main court of Fernando Buesa Arena.
