Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul strengthened its backcourt by signing veteran guard J.R. Bremer to a one-year contract, the club announced Sunday. Bremer (1.87 meters, 32 years old) arrives from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, which he joined midway through last season. Bremer averaged 10.7 points on 42.1% three-point shooting plus 2.3 assists in three Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He went on to tally 8.4 points and 2.4 assists per game in the Italian League in helping Milan reach the finals.Last season marked Bremer’s second Euroleague run, though he has vast experience playing for top teams in Europe. He first played in the Euroleague for Unicaja Malaga in the 2004-05 season. He also helped Unicaja claim the Spanish King’s Cup that season. He has since suited up for Biella in Italy, PAOK in Greece, Bosna AHT BHT in Bosnia and Spartak Primorie Vladivostok, BC Triumph, Krasnye Krylia and Nizhniy Novgorod in Russia. He helped Krasnye Krylia reach the FIBA Eurochallenge title game in 2010. Bremer had previously played two seasons in the NBA with Boston, Cleveland and Golden State.
