Trying to cope with the injuries it's been suffering these last times, Laboral Kutxa Vitoria announced on Thursday a new temporary replacement, and it is no other than Rimantas Kaukenas, who has signed a one-month contract. Kaukenas (1.92 meters, 36 years old) played in Zalgiris Kaunas last season, where he averaged 7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 24 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. Kaukenas had a long run in the Euroleague with Montepaschi Siena, as he spent six seasons there with five appearances in the Euroleague. In 2009-10 he was signed by Real Madrid, but after that season he returned to Siena before moving to his native Lithuania last season to play with Zalgiris. Kaukenas will cover for the recent injuries of Fernando San Emeterio and Thomas Kelati, the latter also being a temporary replacement for Devon Van Oostrum.
